The Power of Words!
The direction of huge ships, boat and aircraft are controlled by a rudder that is used for steering and stabilization. A rudder is a primary control surface used to steer a ship, boat, submarine, hovercraft, aircraft, or other vehicle that moves through a fluid medium. Although a rudder is very small in comparison to the vessel that it is steering, without it the vessel simply is unable to control, the result can be fatal and devastating if untrained and unable to regain control.
In a very simple comparison one might consider the tongue as the rudder of the person. The words that one speaks can never be taken back and is an indicator of what is at the heart of the matter as well as an assessment as to whether the person is in control or not.
